By Percentage
This is the most common grading method. Enter the percentage score you received on each assignment, and the calculator will compute your overall average automatically.

By Letter Grades
If your school uses letter grades (A+, A, A−, B+, B, etc.), select the letter grade for each assignment from the dropdown menu. The calculator converts each letter to its standard numerical equivalent and computes the average.

Letters are converted internally: A+ = 97, A = 93, A− = 90, B+ = 87, B = 83, and so on.
The calculator averages these numerical values and shows both the percentage and the corresponding letter grade.
Example: You received an A (93), B+ (87), and A− (90) on three assignments.
Average = (93 + 87 + 90) ÷ 3 = 90% – equivalent to an A−.
By Grade Points
If you work with a grade-point system (e.g. 4.0 scale), enter the grade points for each assignment. This is useful for students who need to calculate their GPA-style average.
Enter the grade points for each assignment (e.g. 4.0, 3.7, 3.3, 3.0).
The calculator sums all grade points and divides by the number of assignments.
Optionally use weights if certain assignments carry more credit hours.
Example: Your three assignments earned 3.7, 4.0, and 3.3 grade points.
Average = (3.7 + 4.0 + 3.3) ÷ 3 = 3.67 – equivalent to an A−.

How are grade points averaged?
In the Points mode, the calculator adds all your grade-point values together and divides by the number of entries. If you use weights, each grade point is multiplied by its weight before summing, and the total is divided by the sum of all weights. This gives you a weighted grade-point average similar to how universities calculate GPA.
Does the calculator round results?
Yes, the calculator displays results rounded to two decimal places for readability. The underlying calculation uses full precision. For letter grade conversion, standard academic thresholds are used (e.g. 93–100 = A, 90–92.99 = A−, etc.).
